PASCAGOULA, Miss., Apr 4 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has presented Ingalls Shipbuilding a $1.5 1000000000 lessen to physique the 10th San Antonio-Class Amphibious Transport Dock.

The 11 planned ships of the San Antonio class functionally replace more than 41 ships, providing the Navy and U.S. serviceman Corps with modern, sea-based platforms.

The ships are 684 feet long and 105 feet wide and eject approximately 25,000 tons. Their principal assignment is to deploy the combat and hold elements of serviceman Expeditionary Units and Brigades.

The majority of impact on the new board module be performed in Pascagoula, Miss., and is due to be completed by February 2016.
