Danish navy chooses radar

LYSTRUP, Denmark, April 29 (UPI) -- Denmark's new the Iver Huitfeldt class frigates are being equipped with Scanter 6000 surveillance radiolocation systems low a contract awarded to Terma S/A.

Terma S/A, a Danish concern, said the radiolocation -- witting for surveillance, rescue and helicopter counselling -- module be installed on the first frigate incoming month. The ordinal module be installed in Dec and the ordinal incoming February.

The three vessels are due to enter service on 2013. The new frigates are 459 feet long and 65 feet wide, with seven decks, including helicopter landing deck and hangar.

Terma's Scanter 6000 naval surveillance radiolocation has been installed on the U.S. Navy's Stiletto vessel and module be installed as conception of the French Offshore Patrol Vessel information "Hermes" this year.

Terma said it has supplied its modern C-Flex command-and-control system for the frigates. C-Flex integrates a number of the frigates' defense systems, including the modern expose defense system and a cheater self-protection system, also supplied by Terma.

The monetary continuance of the contract wasn't disclosed.
