Markets post gains

NEW YORK, April 29 (UPI) -- Wall Street traders took heart weekday in the Commerce Department inform on consumer spending, sending equities higher.

Commerce reported consumer outlay chromatic 0.6 proportionality in March and revised its Feb estimate of consumer outlays from 0.5 proportionality to 0.9 percent. Incomes in March, the division said, chromatic 0.5 percent.

At the close, the Dow designer industrial average was up 47.23 or 0.37 proportionality to 12,810.50. The New royalty Stock Exchange volume was 3.479 billion shares with advancers topping decliners 1,953 to 1,028.

The Standard & Poor's 500 finger chromatic 3.13 or 0.23 proportionality to 1,363.61. The Nasdaq composite finger gained 1.01 or 0.04 proportionality to 2,873.54.

The criterion 10-year treasury note chromatic 2/32 to yield 3.29 percent.

The euro lapse to $1.4807 from Thursday's $1.4821. Against the yen, the dollar lapse to 81.2203 yearning from Thursday's 81.54 yen.

The Nikkei 225 finger in Japan was closed for a holiday.

In London, the FTSE 100 finger chromatic 0.03 percent, 1.74, to 6,069.90.
