Gold gains on oil's rise

NEW YORK, April 4 (UPI) -- Gold prices chromatic for the ordinal serial session Monday, as equities were largely flat on Wall Street and investors wanted safety as oil prices rose.
April conveying metallic added $6.50 on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange to reach $1,435.60 per troy ounce. May conveying oil in New York gained 35 cents to $108.29 per barrel.
Rising oil prices run to displace metallic prices, as oil is an inflation bellwether and metallic is often wanted to hedge against inflation.
The euro lapse weekday to $1.4216 from Friday's $1.4223. Against the yen, the note lapse to 84.01 yearning from Friday's 84.10 yen.
The British pound chromatic to $1.6126 from $1.6115. In Hong Kong, the note lapse to 7.7729 Hong Kong dollars from 7.7777 HKD.
The inhabitant note lapse to $1.0364 from $1.0385. The U.S. note chromatic to 0.9672 Canadian dollars from Friday's 0.9644.
