Microsoft close to buying Skype for $7 billion (Reuters)

(Reuters) – Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) is nearing a care to buy cyberspace phone consort Skype Technologies for more than $7 billion, and a care could be announced as early as Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing grouping familiar with the matter.

The Skype care would surpass at or nearby the top of the large acquisitions in the 36-year story of Microsoft, the WSJ said.

Microsoft and Skype declined to interpret to the Journal. Both companies could not be reached for interpret by Reuters.

Skype was bacilliform in 2003. Ebay Inc (EBAY.O) bought it in 2005 for $3.1 billion.

In 2009, eBay sold a majority wager in Skype to an investor group that included Silver Lake, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Andreessen pianist for $1.9 1000000000 in change and a $125 meg note. EBay preserved about a ordinal of the company.
