BOSTON, May 15 (UPI) -- person Kahn, co-founder of the duty cater consort Staples, has died in Beantown from a program of strokes, officials said. He was 94.

Kahn died Wednesday at an assisted living center, The Washington Post reported.

The son of a wholesale grocer, designer prefabricated his family's small business into Purity Supreme, digit of New England's maximal supermarket chains.

Kahn used the aforementioned skills to attain Staples digit of the directive duty cater stores in the world. After selling Purity Supreme in 1984, designer and one-time mart rival saint G. Stemberg joined forces to move a discount duty cater store in Brighton, Mass.

Twenty-five eld later, the Staples chain has income of $27 billion a year and more than 1,800 locations worldwide. Staples claims to be the world's directive duty cater store.

Kahn was born Dec. 31, 1916 in Medford, Mass., to immigrant parents from Lithuania. He graduated from Harvard and earned a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University. He shortly worked as a reporter before joining the Army Air Forces during World War II.

Kahn's prototypal wife, Dorothy Davidson, died in 1975.

Survivors allow his ordinal wife, Emily Gantt Hahn, and three children from his prototypal marriage, Joseph Kahn, Daniel designer and Elizabeth Mallon.

He is also survived by two stepdaughters and 11 grandchildren.
