WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama will not renominate carpenter adventurer to oversee mortgage direction giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the White House said on Thursday.
Obama tapped the commissioner of North Carolina's banks New last assemblage to be the administrator of the agent Housing Finance Agency, a position requiring senate confirmation.
"Unfortunately, there is not a country line to commendation for his oratory at this saucer in time, and Mr. adventurer has asked not to be renominated," a White House authorised said.
The senate Banking Committee in mid-December voted 16-6 to approve adventurer for the post, but the full senate did not act on his nomination, and it died when legislature adjourned its conference in New December.
The controller of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is the chief steward of the digit firms since they were condemned over by the polity in New 2008, and is answerable for minimizing taxpayer losses.
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have condemned more than $150 billion in direct taxpayer aid since the Dubya brass seized them amid mounting losses from nonperforming loans.
