U.S. Army orders Saab comm systems

LINKOPING, Sweden, April 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has sequential radio-based communications systems from Sweden's Saab Defense for ingest in live-fire training, the company announced.

The long-term support lessen was issued by the Army's Executive Office of Simulation, Training and Instrumentation. Its potential continuance is most $41 million.

Saab said an initial order worth $3.7 meg has already been received.

"The receipt of the lessen showcases Saab's capability, capacity and ability in the instrumentation and act systems field," says Lars Borgwing, chair of Saab Training USA.

The support commendation covers the production and fielding of heptad radio-based act systems over the next three years. The prototypal grouping will be delivered in November of this assemblage with an added instrumentation grouping delivered every eight months to heptad U.S. Army installations worldwide.

The support commendation is for an initial digit assemblage constituent with options for digit more years.
