French frigate passes sea trials

PARIS, May 11 (UPI) -- A first-of-class frigate shapely for the land blueness by Paris consort DCNS has completed seafaring trials of its feat and guidance systems.

"These initial seafaring trials with the first-of-class Aquitania went very substantially indeed," said Vincent Martinot-Lagarde, program trainer for the FREMM frigate program. "The objectives of this prototypal punctuation of seafaring trials were reached, with more than a hundred tests successful."

DCNS said the FREMM high-performance diesel/electric feat system met expectations, with the Aquitania taken to its peak pace of 27 knots.

For DCNS, these prototypal seafaring trials were a threefold success. Not only did DCNS exceed the initial objectives of the mission, but the campaign also served to reassert the coverall impact method devised for the FREMM program, including the get integration facility for warship utilization systems. This facility simulates guidance and platform management and made a momentous effort to the smooth execution of the trials.

Under the FREMM program, DCNS module physique 12 vessels: 11 for the land blueness and digit for the Royal Moroccan Navy. The vessels feature Herakles multifunction radar, MdCN deep-strike voyage missiles, Aster anti-air missiles, Exocet MM40 anti-ship missiles and MU90 torpedoes.

The ships are 465 feet in length and eject most 6,000 tons.
