Grain futures mostly higher Tuesday

CHICAGO, April 19 (UPI) -- Grains futures were mixed weekday on the Chicago Board of Trade, but winking mostly higher with the dollar index downbound 0.6 percent.

Corn was soured 2 3/4 to up 7 3/4, soybeans were soured 2 1/4 to up 2 1/4, cereal was up 10 1/4 to up 16 1/4 and oats were up 6 1/2 to up 7.

Cold defy in the Midwest gave support to corn and cereal Tuesday, with expectations that planting will be delayed with soil temperatures baritone and fall in the forecast. Wheat futures institute boost support from this week's crop progress report that showed 36 proportionality of the winter cereal crop in beatific to superior shape, downbound from 69 proportionality at this instance of year in 2010.

In the soybean market, prices were mixed cod to continuing anaemic demand from China. Soybean programme included reports of canceled shipments from South American sources.

Corn: May 7.49 soured 2 3/4, Jly 7.57 soured 2 1/2, Sep 7.15 1/2 up 3 1/2, Dec 6.76 up 7 3/4.

Soybeans: May 13.42 soured 2 1/4, Jly 13.54 soured 1 3/4, Aug 13.57 1/2 up 3/4, Sep 13.55 up 2 1/4.

Wheat: May 7.85 3/4 up 10 3/4, Jly 8.21 up 10 1/4, Sep 8.58 3/4 up 12, Dec 8.92 3/4 up 16 1/4.

Oats: May 3.94 up 6 1/2, Jly 4.03 1/2 up 7, Sep 4.08 1/2 up 7, Dec 4.13 1/2 up 7.
