GeoManGear recalls lithium-ion batteries

WASHINGTON, Apr 19 (UPI) -- A company in Denver, GeoManGear, is recalling 18,100 lithium-ion batteries that crapper overheat, move a fire hazard, a federal watchdog agency said Tuesday.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said 16,600 batteries in the United States and 1,500 in Canada were participating in the request initiated by Datseplots Inc., doing business as GeoManGear.
The batteries were utilised with Magicshine bicycle lights. The request involves Magicshine Series I and Series II lithium-ion batteries oversubscribed with reddened sets on Magicshine 900 Lumen (MJ-808), 1400 Lumen (MJ-816), and Tail Light (MJ818) battery packs.
The battery packs were oversubscribed separately. Series I batteries were sheathed in a nylon sleeve, patch Series II batteries were enclosed in an metal casing.
They were oversubscribed nationwide from the GeoManGear Web place from June 2009 finished Nov 2010 for between $40 and $130.
Consumers were wise to kibosh using the batteries and register at www.MagicShineBatteryRecall.com to obtain a liberated replacement.
