Texas judge names special counsel in Toyota case (AP)

LOS ANGELES – A determine in Texas has named a special direction to investigate whether Toyota Motor Corp. intentionally hid grounds during a causa filed by a blackamoor unfit in a car accident.

The Los Angeles Times reports District Judge Evangelist E. Neil appointed J. Pope Coontz on weekday after reviewing documents from past Toyota lawyer Dimitrios Biller, who said the automaker held back country data.

The Times says crash victim Pennie Green settled for $1.5 meg in 2007 but after filed a motion to stop Toyota in contempt.

Biller tells The Associated Press he believes he will be titled to declare before the special counsel. He says he was subpoenaed and gave documents to the Texas determine in October.

Toyota issued a statement locution the company is overconfident it acted befittingly in the case.
